The party is gearing up for unveiling protest programmes and settle the intraparty disputes regarding the party’s political course from the special general convention within a year. Internal rift in the CPN-Maoist has surfaced after party secretary Netra Bikram Chand tabled a separate proposal at the party’s ongoing central committee meeting expressing reservation to party chairman Mohan Baidhya’s document.
As per the agreement, chairman Baidhya and secretary Chand would withdraw their proposals, and chairman Baidhya would bring a new document on behalf of the party office-bearers. The leaders have also concluded that intraparty rifts would hamper the agitation programmes.
Central committee member Sarala Regmi said in Sunday’s meeting general secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa tabled a proposal of party office-bearer for protest programmes till January 2015.
General secretary Thapa has directed the party central committee members and advisors to prepare for agitations considering the issues of nationality, people’s livelihood and pro-people constitution. RSS
