Pyuthan, July 2: A couple has committed suicide by hanging themselves from a house ceiling at Kolampama of Sari VDC-3 in Pyuthan. Before this, they set the house on fire. Shivaram Raut, 54, and his spouse Chhuma Raut, 50, are believed to have hanged themselves, following a dispute over domestic issue, the District Police Office Pyuthan said.

 

Chhuma had been suffering from mental disorder for the past few years while Shivaram was a drunkard, according to their neighbours. Their son Maite Raut is abroad in course of employment and daughter-in-law went to maternal home with her son when the incident occurred, a local Kamala Subedi said.Police are investigating the incident, it is learnt.
