Biratnagar, July 8: Election commissioner Dr Rambhakta PV Thakur has pointed out the need of womens participation for development of the nation. Commissioner Thakur said this at an interaction programme on gender issues in election organized in Biratnagar, today. The commission has introduced a gender policy aimed at including women in every sectors of society such as social, economic, political among others.

Therefore political parties should strictly follow it, Thakur added. Similarly, spokesman at the commission, Bir Bahadur Rai said that the nation can achieve prosperity only when women participate in every sector of the society. At the interaction programme today, representatives of different political parties, security officials and women rights activists from Morang, Dhankuta, Jhapa and Saptari district took part.
