Saptari, July 6: The District Police Office, Saptari, has arrested three persons including administrative officer at the District Administration Office, Saptari, on the charge of their involvement in producing fake citizenship certificate.
The arrested are Administrative Officer Tejendra Bahadur Karki, Secretary of Kachan VDC and Assistant Sub-Inspector at Police Post, Kachan, Satya Narayan Mahato, said police.
Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Raj Kumar Baidawar, said that necessary action has been forwarded against them.
Baidawar said that they were arrested on the charge of providing citizenship certificate to a man in the name of Jyoti Shumsher Rana, son of Prahlad Shumsher of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-1 by submitting fake details with an intension of capturing 24 bighas of land located at Kachan ward nos. 2, 3, 4 and 7.
Police have not made public the identity of the man producing the fake citizenship certificate in the name of Jyoti Shumsher Rana.
Rana lives in India since long. The fake citizenship certificate issued on May 12 has signature of administrative officer, Karki.
Baidawar said that they were arrested after the citizenship certificate was found fake in course of investigation on the application filed at the District Customs Office, Saptari, for transferring land ownership.
