According to the Foreign Ministry, this is Ms Swarajs first official visit to Nepal as the External Affairs Minister of India.
She will be leading the Indian delegation in the 3rd Nepal-India Joint Commission meeting to be held in Kathmandu on July 26-27.
The Joint Commission established at the Foreign Ministers level in 1987 is a bilateral mechanism to oversee the entire gamut of Nepal-India relations and provide directives on measures to further strengthen these relations.
During her visit, Ms Swaraj will call on the President, Prime Minister, Chairman of the Constituent Assembly and Legislature-Parliament and will also meet political leaders, including the leader of the main opposition party in the parliament, according to the Ministry. RSS
