Nepal is celebrating the bicentenary of the pioneering poet Bhanubhakta on July 13. The Bhanubhakta Acharya Bicentenary Celebrations Executive Committee has already honoured 180 septuagenarian litterateurs with the Bhanubhakta Award carrying a purse of Rs. 10,000 each, according to committee advisor Narendraraj Prasai.
The government has allocated Rs.100,000 to each zones to celebrate the adikavis bicentenary. The committee has already organised Bhanubhakta Kabya festival, painting and essay writing competition on the same occasion.
Similarly, the Committee has planned to publish a 500-page Bhanubhakta Kabya Grantha edited by Prof Dr Mahadev Awasthi and Prasai and biography of Bhanubhakta titled Bhanubhakta and Motiram penned by Prasadi on the same occasion. RSS
