Opening the conference, Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Neelam KC said the government has brought several policies and programmes for the welfare of the disabled women. She said these programmes would be expanded.
She spoke on the need of partnership between all the countries of the region for reducing violence against women in the South Asia region.
General Secretary of National Federation of the Disabled Nepal (NFDN), Tika Dahal called for raising the capacity of the disabled women by building networks so as to bringing the issues of the disabled in the mainstream.
