At a programme organized by the federal republic front set up recently by the seven parties, Chairman Dahal said he has not advocated for state-restructuring based on ethnicity but aimed at unifying those which are not brought to mainstream.
"UCPN-Maoist is not the party emphasizing on the right of a particular ethnic groups," he said adding, "But, I’m ready to empower all advocating for identity."
He argued that if the political parties in and out of the Constituent Assembly do not unite, transformation can not be institutionalized.
According to him, as the UCPN-Maoist was against thresh-hold in the second CA elections, there are some small parties in the CA.
Leftist leader Padma Ratna Tuladhar said democracy and republic could not be institutionalized unless those in the discrimination were catered justice. He added that no political movement in the country has so far actually worked for peasant, indigenous and nationalities.
Those included in the front are Tharuhat Tarai Party, Khambuwan Rastriya Morcha, Rastriya Janamukti Party, Nepa Rastriya Party, Indigenous Nationalities’ Party, Sanghiya Loktantrik Rastriya Manch and Samajik Loktantrik Party.
At the programme, CA members Shiva Lal Thapa and Gopal Dahit said they were united as the agenda of identity-based federalism was shadowed.
The front has said it would continue interaction, talk programme and meetings and forge alliance with the parties having shared agenda. (Photo and audio clips Available) RSS
