Kathmandu, July 3: Senior leader of the CPN-UML Madhav Kumar Nepal has said the leadership of young generation was essential to build up the party.

Addressing a gathering of general convention representatives under 50 years of age in course of the inaugural of the ninth general convention of the party on Thursday, Nepal said leadership of young generation was necessary to make partys future bright. However, he said he was contesting for the new chairman of the party with the support from the young leaders.

"The zeal of young generation is needed for the party," he added. Politburo member Surenda Prasad Pande argued that the young generation of the party was fully for leader Nepal, and leadership without Nepal would weaken the party.
