Gaur (Rautahat), July 22: CPN (UML) senior leader and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has warned that the Madhes would turn to a desert if excavation of natural resources from the Chure region continued.

"Conservation of the Chure region is a must to save the Madhes", he said. Talking to the media persons in his hometown on Tuesday, the former Prime Minister said the Madhes villages will lose a lot if the rampant encroachment upon the Chure jungle and deforestation is not checked at the earliest.


"The Chure and Terai have a direct relation," he said, drawing the attention of all lawmakers from the Madhes towards its preservation. RSS
